Moira attended Seattle University School of Law where she received the Washington Scholar scholarship award and received her JD in 2023. She has a prior BFA from Cornish College and a BA in teaching and special education from Western Governor’s University. Her work in education prior to law school influenced her decision to pursue a law degree and as a law student, she followed the constitutional law track and did her clinical work in civil rights at Seattle University’s Korematsu Center. During law school she continued working in special education and has worked in a variety of educational settings including alternative schools, public and private schools, internet schools and non-public agencies. As an educator, Moira has worked extensively with students who struggle with dyslexia and took training from the Oregon Dyslexia Institute in 2018 for the Orton Gillingham Approach to teaching students with dyslexia. She has worked as a private tutor using this approach since 2018.
Moira’s professional teaching background also includes more than ten years of teaching Suzuki violin. She has played with numerous community orchestras in the area and currently plays and performs with the Ensign Symphony.
